Roll On 2010

The Horowhenua Balloon Society has held its AGM and the committee is already meeting monthly to organise next year's Lift Off Levin Balloon Fiesta. As well as tackling the logistics of organising the event, the committee is busy seeking the funding necessary to run a successful event, both through funding bodies and sponsorship. As the event has continued to raise its profile and generate media interest, it now offers companies a real opportunity for exposure in several areas. The images below are screengrabs from a One News story that ran on the Easter Sunday of the event - both balloon sponsors received valuable media exposure.

It is intended to build on this type of media exposure for next year, so if you are interested in offering sponsorship to a balloon or the event, please contact us through the Lift Off Levin website.

After the success of Balloons at the Basin in Wellington, the Basin Reserve has once again been made available to us over the Easter weekend and organisation of this event is once again planned in tandem with Lift Off Levin. Once again this event provides a real opportunity for a potential sponsor (and was the subject of the One News article). Also coming on board again next year for the event is the nominated charity Skylight, who worked with us this year running the gates and were also the recipient of 10% of the gate takings. Skylight works to help children and young people deal with change, loss and grief and is a good fit for Balloons at the Basin as an inexpensive family-fun event. Skylight is working on ideas to increase their participation in the event to raise the profile of this very worthy cause. An example of some of their work is included below - one of a series of videos accompanying The Journey Through resource, with ideas for getting through the tough times.
